It is a commissioned piece and the customer initially contacted me to make a series of smaller paintings depicting interpretations of a few different films. However the initial idea was dropped and the owner of the piece had an idea about an air ship sailing the sky.
With some tweaking around we settled on an idea of a whale carrying a boat. We discussed colors and the owner had the great idea of using the image of northern lights to get some green in the color scheme. I later added a mini portrait of the customers son.
Both me and the the customer are really happy with the end result! Thank you for your patience, trust and support. I deeply enjoyed painting this piece and I’m proud that it is hanging on your wall!
